meet javier
this little guy practically ate my week away. this little time consumer is gonna become very huge in a matter of months.

"my bag! all lost!"
you know how usual greetings are like? hello, smile.. generally expressions of joy. but trust ema, my maid to break all traditions.
in usual ema fashion, her flight was slightly late, so me and my sister were like hopping on our feet. we are not good at waiting. anyhow, we were talking about the many scenarios that could possibly happen. the conversation went something like that.
me: "imagine if she's not on the plane",
sister: "or she doesn't know how to come out!"
me: "or she left her luggage in jakarta"
sister: "or she immediately walks out of arrival and forgets her bags."
me: "no way!"
but apparently, yes way. we saw her and waved like mad. but of course, she didn't see. her face was in panic, and we were a little worried. then, she saw us.
and she chiong-ed out and i was like (to my sister), "you were right!"
we franticially pushed our way through the crowd just in time to stop her. one more step out, the gate would've closed behind her. "ema!" and here was where we started.
"my bag! all lost!"
i actually looked at her in disbelief. i mean, sure, i pictured her arrival. in my mind things could've went a little wild, but this, this is like what i imagined. oh the drama! she was speaking frantically, and people were looking. i tried my best to hide my embarrassment. didn't do it too well though.
so what could've been an hour affair pretty much turned into this semi-drama that got a lot of people invovled.

hollywood's not america
jus heard this on the radio.
in this age, this kinda song isn't really appropriate anymore. when sex is as sacred as paris' hilton's sex tape (ie. share with everyone), everyone wants to be rich and famous, and conforming is just not spoken of (ie. everyone thinks their individuals), this song sounds like an s club reject, for a b-side.
but apparently, it's still receiving a lot of youtube love, so maybe it's just me.

at home
yeah at home now haven't been sleeping much the past 3 days. first night was yihao's 21st and woo's 23rd at sentosa. the second night was to maximise our time together so we went prawn-ing at bishan till almost one. then the next night supper because the next day (today) was their enlistment. woo heng's and yihao's.
so now i'm finally home so early and the next day's evening/night shift so i'm gonna sleep good! my grandparents are here as well, so it's good. going to watch kung fu panda tomorrow.. just damn tired.
so many so little so lazy
so many.. things to blog about
so little.. time because checking boots ain't easy!

off!
hehe got an off day from checking boots today!! so happy! double joy because it is also...
*drum roll*
qq's birthday!! happy birthday to the queen of gambling. only that she doesn't really win much! well, here's a happy old 22nd birthday (what would i know? i'm only 20) hehe! have lots of fun with us, but dun worry no presents. haha and well, may all the best things in life come your way. oh but wait. they already did. us! =p but all those well-wishes aside,
dun forget to bring your credit card later cos we're spending big!
and well, we makan-ed our way through last night and i reached home at like what? 3? only slept for 3 hrs and went back to camp to make sure everything's ok. wah i think i'm damn hardworking and super on! i typed a new namelist, detailed people to different stations.. all last night!! someone give me a hug please!
ahem! very proud of myself thank you.
well going back to sleep now. sending my maid to the airport later. did i mention?? she's going back to indonesia!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.
the 2 weeks without her will be torture! our household will be broken for 2 weeks. it'll be like a pail without a mop, a plate of rice without a spoon, a tv without a starhub cable box or an aircon unit without a controller!
i can just picture her home-coming. she'll be at the door, drop her bags at the gate, with tears in her eyes, she'll say,
"mum! what happened?!" (but in malay of course).
but till that day comes, i'm gonna have to worry about washing ironing and fetching my sister from school.

a little bit about brooke fraser
about the album and song albertine
"The story behind the song is often talked about in interviews (mostly due to it being the title track of her second album), and Fraser wrote at length about the song in the album liner notes of her Albertine album. The song is about an orphan that Fraser met while travelling in Rwanda for the first time in June 2005. Her guide took her to a village school in Kabuga district, and showed her a girl that the guide had personally saved her life. The girl, named Albertine, is described as tall and beautiful by Fraser. Her guide then requested that Fraser write a song about the girl and name it after her. Fraser then wrote the song after returning to Australia after the trip." Wikipedia
